Rockwell hardness testing is an indentation testing method. It is a general method for measuring the hardness of metallic and polymer materials. Chief advantage is to display hardness values directly, thus obviating tedious calculations involved in other hardness measurements. Also, the relatively simple and convenient set-up makes its second point. It involves the application of a minor load followed by a major load and shows the hardness value directly from a dial or depth meters
